My Story
Relationships are fascinating to me. Long before I started writing, I loved reading stories about all the different ways that men and women come together. Romances with happy endings. Tales about two people finding love, despite their obstacles. Books have always inspired me. I’ve learned from books. Found solace and escape in them. Beauty, too—and hope, of course. And now I feel it is my duty to inspire others.

I wasn’t always a writer. I grew up in Southern California, and like many other young, impressionable girls enchanted by that magical illusion we call Hollywood, I thought that I would be an actress someday. I tried it for a while. Plays and high school theater. Weekend walk-on roles and many, many fruitless casting calls. Alas, that life was never meant to be.
So I went to college and then stayed there for a huge chunk of my twenties, eventually earning a doctorate. (Psychology.) I like to think my education has afforded me a deeper understanding of relationships. Maybe it has. But honestly, the best thing that I got from school was meeting my husband, Rychard. He is my true love and soul mate. Together, we have made a good life for ourselves, and a happy family. I’m the mother of two wonderful, amazing daughters, Megan and Melinda. My other “child” is our rescued labrador, Cocoa—my walking buddy and the one who curls up by my chair as I’m plotting out new stories.

Aside from writing, I love to travel. Canada is like a second home to me. I also have great memories of Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia, as well as many other places. If I have a motto it is this: Live well. Love much. Laugh often. I have this on a wooden sign above my study, actually. I also enjoy baking, watching Hallmark movies, and lounging on my couch watching the rain outside.
